After backing up my photos and music from my now wonky desktop computer, I got the behemoth of a tower off my desk and stored safely away in the basement (y’know, to collect dust for the next few years or something).
Now my office workstation is much more minimalist. There’s the Pi, a monitor, the wireless keyboard and mouse combo, my Chromebook, my tablet and a couple of external hard drives. In fact, my desk probably hasn’t looked this clean in a long time.
I fired up the Pi and … well … soon I realized it has been so long since I bought it that the Raspbian operating system is woefully out of date. Now I’ve spent the last couple of hours trying to update it before scrapping the idea and grabbing the latest NOOBS image for a completely fresh reinstall.
I suppose I could have avoided all of these problems by simply keeping up with the OS updates and doing the Jessie install last fall. But hey, sometimes I prefer to do things the hard way.
As I write this (on my Chromebook *sigh*), NOOBS is installing Raspbian on the little computer.
Onwards and upwards, right?
